Hello, my name is Candice Miller and I am a 2nd year Master’s student in Program Development from Piper City, IL. The reason I chose to major in Agriculture Education is because I really enjoyed my experience as an undergraduate teaching assistant. Working with the students made me realize how much I really enjoyed teaching and sparked my interest to pursue a career in agriculture education.
My favorite part of studying Agricultural Education at the University of Illinois is getting to know all the other students in the program. The whole program is very close knit and everyone is there to support each other and work together, which makes the college experience so much better.
My undergrad degree is in horticulture, so I’m a little bit of a plant geek. I love gardening, landscaping, floral design, and pretty much anything else plant related. I’m also a cake decorator and I teach cake decorating classes, so I also love baking. My other interests include music, movies, shopping, my cat, Boots, and just having fun in general.
My advice for students is to not be afraid to try new things and meet new people while you are in college!
