I grew up on a small rural farmstead just east of Bloomington, IL. My family and I spent countless hours working to upgrade the property while we lived there, completely gutting and refinishing the house, regrading much of the yard and barnyard, and rebuilding the perimeter fence around the 17-acre property. I enjoyed the privacy and agrarian lifestyle that came with the small feeder cattle and horse operation we ran on the property. While in high school, I spent most of my free time working around the farm, working at Illinois State University Campus Dining Services, and being active in my local FFA chapter. I am currently entering my senior year at the University of Illinois in Agricultural Education. Highlights of my activities here include Alpha Tau Alpha, a professional honorary agricultural education organization, Alpha Gamma Rho Social/Professional Fraternity, Horticulture Club, and volunteering for Habitat for Humanity. In between these endeavors I manage to stay busy with academics. My favorite hobbies include spending time with my friends and being outdoors. Specifically, I thoroughly enjoy boating, camping, and hiking. I also enjoy following Illini sports.
I am looking forward to my last year here at the university and am anxious to begin student teaching. While I will miss the friendships and connections I have made during my three years here, I feel ready to begin my professional career and the next chapter of my life.
