Greenhand Workshops - "Today's Greenhands, Tomorrow's Leaders!" conference is a rotation of workshops that will prove to be not only informative but fun and interactive. Developed and presented by several former state and national FFA officers, and outstanding student leaders at the University of Illinois, attendees will definitively leave the conference motivated to start the year on the right foot. The conference has been redesigned this year with more workshop offerings so that each session will have fewer participants, which means more individualized attention for your students.
Student Trainer Workshop - NEW THIS YEAR! Each registered chapter will be allowed to bring up to 2 student leaders for a train-the-trainer workshop. "Creating Dynamic Workshops" is a hands-on training session that will go step by step with your student leaders on how to develop a workshop that is sure to please participants. Participants are encourage to bring workshop topics that will be useful for their chapter. All participants will leave with a ready-to-present workshop!
Advisor's Session - "Utilizing Problem-Based Learning to teach Agricultural Content" is a hands-on workshop for agriculture teachers to help them understand and properly use this student-centered approach to instruction. Attendees will go through a problem as students, while being instructed on how to develop their own case studies in various agriculture courses. This workshop is an approved professional development activity for teacher recertification. Intent to participate in this PDW should be emailed or called in to Dr. James C. Anderson by Wednesday, September 30th.
