Program Delivery and Evaluation

Course Description

Students complete this course during and following their 12-week internship experience (ED PR 442). Written assignments will focus on development of teaching plans, program initiation and improvement plans, and actual evaluation studies of Agricultural Education programs.

Upon completion of Ag Ed 450, students will be able to:

  • Examine the formal and informal structure of a school organization, and determine strategies to develop and manage an agricultural education program in a school organization.
  • Develop a program of work and justification for a summer and extended programming.
  • Participle in and explain strategic planning.
  • Describe how to conduct a needs assessment.
  • Develop a program a program guide including philosophy/mission statement, vision, and goals.
  • Develop a career pathway model and courses of study.
  • Explain the functions of an advisory council and establish an organizational plan for an advisory council.
  • Discuss the key component of program evaluation and a continuous improvement plan.
  • Reflect on the student teaching internship and the process of becoming a program manager.
  • Identify and use resources to plan, evaluate, and market an agricultural education program.
