Course Description
Capstone academic experience where students study the practice of leadership in personal, team, organizational, and community contexts. Emphasis is placed on transitional development of leadership skills including mentoring, networking, and developing leadership skill in others. This interdisciplinary course is designed as a capstone academic experience for students to study the practice of leadership in personal, team, organizational and community contexts. Emphasis is placed on understanding the application of leadership to real world experiences. Specifically, how do the theories of leadership help in understanding leadership application?
Upon completion of Ag Ed 360, students will be able to:
- Review your understanding of and ability to apply basic theories and methods of leadership to real life situations.
- Assess your individual strengths and weaknesses, values, motivations and passions and the impact these traits and characteristics have on your personal, professional and social development.
- Examine contemporary leadership frameworks and demonstrate an understanding of how the theories of leadership are applied in practice through self-reflection, case studies, guided discussion provided over the course of the semester, and through discussions with the guest speakers.
- Deepen your level of authentic engagement with and about self as leaders and models of Integrity.
- Engage and explore how all of who we are impacts how we relate and work with others around us.
- Provide a source of support to one another in doing our own “work” for the most congruent and integral life.
