Interned at Top Sires and University of Illinois State Extension
Buddy grew up on a diversified livestock operation and showed cattle, pigs, and sheep. His passion for livestock has always been strong. He graduated with his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in Animal Sciences. It was during his undergraduate experience that he found a passion for coaching and teaching about livestock; this passion inspired his decision to become a teacher. During his undergraduate experience at U of I, he was a member of the Meat Animal Evaluation Team and the Livestock Judging Team.
He says his favorite part of studying Agricultural Education at the University of Illinois is the people. "The faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate students are so welcoming. It gives you a feeling of accomplishment, because it feels like you are a part of something more than just being a student.”
Buddy’s advice to students is “take advantage of the opportunities at U of I. You never know what door will lead you to your future career.”
