Trent Hawker grew up in a small, rural community where his family raised horses and chickens. He chose to pursue a major in Agricultural Education because he says, "it was a natural fit for me. I loved FFA in high school and there are countless ways to apply an Agricultural Education degree into a successful career." Trent also has an interest in plant production, specifically as it relates to the horticulture industry.
Trent said his favorite part of the program at the University of Illinois was the family atmosphere it provided. "You really get to know your fellow students and instructors through participation in classes and club activities." He encourages other students to "get involved and do not be afraid to ask questions because everyone is here to help you succeed."
