Interned at Black Hawk College East Campus Organic Farm, Mid-American Grower, University of Illinois Arboretum
While growing up in a small town in Illinois, Taylor says she was “surrounded by agriculture.” As a 2015 graduate of the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture, she knew the next step was to further her education. She found the Agriculture Education Masters program and never looked back. She knew this was the ideal program to enhance her leadership abilities and propel her career in agriculture.
Taylor said her favorite part studying Agricultural Education at the University of Illinois was the "homey atmosphere". She adds, “Not only does the UIUC Ag Ed Program provide a diverse and friendly atmosphere, the quality of education and instruction provides a platform of learning that is unparalleled.” Outside of the Ag Ed program, Taylor is an avid gardener, and enjoys floral design and landscaping.
Her advice to students is, “When the going gets tough, persevere. There is always a light at the end of the tunnel no matter the challenge. Education is one thing that can never be taken away.”
