Sara Barton

Class of 2017
From Cornell, IL
Interned at Agricultural Science Education Office
Student taught at Mahomet-Seymour High School

Agriculture has always been a big part of Sara Barton’s life. “Growing up on a farm and showing cattle deepened my passion for ag, and since I was little, I wanted to be a teacher,” she said. Pursuing a career as an agricultural educator allows Sara to combine her passion for agriculture with her dream to teach.

Sara said her favorite part of studying Agricultural Education at the U of I is that “We act like family.” “I know that there is help and an ear to listen just around the corner,” she said. Her advice for students is: “Get to know your advisors! They want to see you succeed and will go to any lengths to make it happen.”
