Rhett Higgins grew up on his family's small cattle farm in Morris, Illinois. He was very active in 4-H and youth leadership and spent most of his summers at fairs or summer camps. He chose to major in Agricultural Education because of his life experiences. "Throughout my life, the two most impactful and life changing things have been growing up on a farm and past educators," he said. "The agriculture industry offers experiences and life skills that can't be found anywhere else. As an educator, I hope to open the door to agriculture for students who weren't as lucky to be born into it." Rhett's advice for students is: "Don't be afraid to try new things or go out of your comfort zones."
