Growing up on her family’s crop and cattle farm, Rebecca’s passion for the agriculture industry runs deep. Her passion for the agriculture industry, coupled with her desires for helping others and working with youth, made her decision to major in Agriculture Leadership Education an "easy choice". While interning with the University of Illinois Extension, she discovered her passion for working in 4-H and youth development.
Rebecca says one of her favorite parts of studying Agricultural Leadership Education at the University of Illinois is the family atmosphere. “Despite the large size of the university, the Agriculture Education professors are always welcoming and always willing to listen.” Outside of her classes, Rebecca is a member of the Hoof n' Horn Club, Ag Ed Club and was a member of the livestock judging team. Rebecca’s advice to students is to “always have a backup plan; there is more than one way to achieve your dreams”.
