Meg Meeker

Class of 2018
From Emden, Illinois

Meg Meeker chose to major in Agricultural Education because she wants to be a positive influence in her students’ lives and to promote the agriculture industry’s mission to provide food and fiber. Meg grew up on a farm in the heart of Illinois where her family raises purebred Duroc and Hampshire show pigs to sell across the nation. Her favorite part of studying Agricultural Education at the U of I is how accepting everyone in the program has been. “They weren’t kidding when they said you’re joining a family,” she said. Meg’s advice for students is: “Take advantage of all the opportunities that the campus has to offer.”
