Kayla Kauffman

Class of 2018
From Waterman, Illinois
Interned at Undergraduate Research Assistant, UIUC Dairy Calf Feed Trial, 2016

Kayla Kauffman chose to major in Agricultural Education because she loves people. “I’m also really passionate about ag literacy,” she said. “I believe everyone should know where their food comes from.” Kayla’s family owns and operates the largest turkey farm in Illinois, which contributed to her love for agriculture. She also enjoys horseback riding, reading, and trying new things. Her favorite part of studying Agricultural Education at the University of Illinois is the family-like atmosphere. “I love how close everyone is and I also love the opportunity to inspire the next generation of ag leaders.” Kayla’s advice for students is: “Don’t be afraid to get outside of your comfort zone!”
