Katherine Mammoser

Class of 2017
From Effingham, Illinois
Interned at University of Illinois Extension serving Clay, Effingham, Fayette, and Jasper Counties

Katherine has always had a passion for helping people, as well as a passion for agriculture; her decision to major in Agriculture Leadership was a great way to combine the two. “I chose to major in Agricultural Leadership Education because I have grown up around education my whole life; both my mom and dad are teachers. I enjoy teaching people new things and I love learning about agriculture. Ag Education seemed like the perfect fit.”

Through her internship with the University of Illinois Extension, she discovered her talent for working with youth in agriculture. She learned valuable lessons from teaching youth about agriculture, and various interpersonal skills. Katherine says her favorite part of studying Ag Education at the University of Illinois is “the classes I take with Ag Education teach me skills that I will use for the rest of my life. I am learning interpersonal skills and ways to make 'leading' and 'educating' a better experience for everyone.”
