Agriculture Teacher and FFA Advisor at Canton High School, Canton, Illinois
Jeff Reale's involvement in his family farm, coupled with his active participation in the National FFA Organization and influence from his agriculture instructors, helped to spark his interest in Agricultural Education. He says, "I wanted to be able to share my passion for Agriculture and make a difference in the lives of my students, educating them about the many opportunities the industry has to offer for their future. Agriculture has given so much to me throughout my life, and I wanted to be able to share with others some of the insights and experiences I have learned." His active involvement in his high school FFA chapter carried through to his participation in the Collegiate FFA and the Ag Ed Club at the University of Illinois.
Mr. Reale said his favorite part of studying Agricultural Education at the University of Illinois was the family atmosphere provided by the instructors and fellow classmates in the Ag Ed Program. "Everyone made you feel right at home, which provided a better learning environment." In addition to his coursework, Mr. Reale also enjoyed volunteering for various groups and watching Illini basketball.
He encourages current university students to, "do what you love!" Mr. Reale also adds, "Set goals for yourself, and achieve them to the best of your ability. Take the opportunities that are given to you, because you never know where they could lead to down the road."
