Hayden Kinkade

Class of 2017
From Noble, Illinois
Interned at Growmark - Exploring Agriculture

Hayden knew early in life that he wanted to pursue a career in agriculture, but it was when he started taking agriculture classes in high school that he discovered he wanted to teach. As the former Section 23 President, Hayden was extremely active in FFA and agriculture classes. He says, “when choosing Agricultural Education, I was reminded of the impact that my agriculture teachers made on me, and how I strive to make that same impact on future generations.”

Hayden chose Agriculture Education at the University of Illinois because it provides many opportunities that may not be available at other institutions. “My favorite part of studying Agricultural Education at the University of Illinois is how tight knit of a program it is. As a transfer student from Wabash Valley College, the university was extremely welcoming. At such an expansive campus, it is refreshing to be connected with others who share the same personal and career goals.”

Outside of on-campus activities and coursework, Hayden enjoys cheering for the Illini football and basketball teams, hunting, fishing, and watching Cardinals baseball with his grandpa. His advice for students is “join Ag Ed and never give up on your dreams!”
