Grant Loranger, a 2014 graduate from the University of Illinois Agricultural Education program, is now the Associate Operations Trainer for Cars.com. He is responsible for training new Cars.com employees, providing ongoing training for experienced employees, and developing training materials.
Grant says, “I love that my job gives me the opportunity to interact and build relationships with people of all levels of the organization—be they the new employees that I will train or the management team.”
Grant is grateful for his experiences at the University of Illinois as they have prepared him for his job. “Being a student taught me the value of hard work and perseverance, allowed me to give plenty of presentations, and showed me the career path that I would ultimately choose for myself.” He also thanks the many teachers he encountered on his path, as he tries to emulate them to be a better teacher/trainer. Grant really enjoyed building relationships with both peers and faculty at the University of Illinois.
According to Grant, the “amazing people who choose to work for and attend the University of Illinois” is what sets it apart from other academic institutions.
