When it came time for the Normal, Illinois native to decide where to pursue his college education, David Mouser selected the University of Illinois! He chose to attend the University of Illinois because it had the “benefits of a Big 10 institution combined with the small school feel and support from the college of ACES. If I had a question, problem, or just needed support, I could always find someone that could help me in person! That made all the difference for me.”
David graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Education. After graduation, he began his career in the classroom as a high school agriculture instructor before ultimately becoming an administrator. On a daily basis, you can see Principal Mouser using his leadership and communication skills as he adapts to the many roles he encounters during a typical day. On any given occasion, Mr. Mouser is asked to support students, evaluate and mentor teachers, and represent the school at community events.
Looking back on his experiences at the University of Illinois, David says he enjoyed “just being an Illini.” He continues by saying, “The friendships and memories I made were incredible. I am still very proud of my affiliation with the University of Illinois. I think all of us graduate and smile a little bit when we put on the orange and blue again. I am still very proud when I’m asked where I went to school. I love telling people that I am an Illini.”
