Candice Miller believes “the whole environment and experience sets U of I apart from other institutions. The people I met, the classes I took, the clubs I was involved in were all part of getting an excellent education and being able to get a job that I love.”
While at the University of Illinois, Candice prepared herself for career success by participating in Ag Ed Club, Ag Ed Graduate Student Organization, Horticulture Club and Floral Design Club. Since graduating with her Master of Science degree in May 2012, Candice has been employed with the University of Illinois Extension as a Horticulture Educator. She is responsible for developing programs to educate the public on horticulture and instructing Master Gardener courses.
Candice credits the teaching skills she learned in the Agricultural Education program for helping her be able to deliver a “high impact program and know how to evaluate its effectiveness.” The horticulture knowledge she obtained also assisted her when developing programs and answering questions from the public.
