Ben Oakley always knew he wanted to be involved in the field of agriculture, and in college, he realized he wanted to become an agriculture educator. "I have a passion for kids and want to see them evolve and further their knowledge in agriculture," he said. "Just like my ag teachers inspired me to pursue a career in ag, I hope to inspire my future students to do the same thing."
Ben's passion for agriculture began growing up on his family's farm. Ben continued to become more and more involved with the family's cattle herd through 4-H, and he now owns and manages over half of the herd. He also owns and operates a custom hay bailing business. His background in farming has taught him a serious work ethic, and he encourages students to "work hard to get where you want to be and never say never."
